The Summary of August Rush Movie

This movie tells us about Lyla falls in love with Louis when the first time they meet. Lyla is a famous beuatiful cellist, and Louis is an Irish guitarist and lead singer of a band in club. They meet each other following the music on the top of a building. After that first meeting they agree to meet again at the Town Park. But, they are separated because Lyla’s father forbids her. In fact, from that one night together Lyla becomes pregnant.

Afterward, Lyla gets an accident and bears but her father tells her that the baby died. Actually, her father sent Lyla’s baby to an orphanage. He thinks that Lyla’s baby will affect her career. He wants Lyla to have a success without a child. Both Lyla and Louis give up their musical career after that.

Eleven years later

Evan Taylor, a very skilful music boy, lives in Walden County Home for Boys. He is eleven-year-old. All of his friends in Walden County think that Evan is crazy and freak because Evan has an imajination he can hear a music everywhere. Only one wants to be his friend. No matter what his friends say Evan believes that the music he always hears comes from his Mother and father.

One day, Mr. Jeffries, a social worker from the Child Services Department, want to place Evan to a new foster parent but Evan doesn’t want to be adopted and finally he decides to run away from Walden County and follows the music. Evan believes that the music he heard will deliver him to meet his parents.

In New York, Evan meets Arthur, a boy who is playing the guitar on a street for getting money. He follows Arthur and he is trapped in a protection of an eccentric street musician, Wizard. At first, Wizard promises success and gives him a commercial name, August Rush, convincing him he will be sent back to the orphanage if his real name is ever discovered. One night, some police raid Wizard’s place to catch Arthur.

After that raid, Evan takes refuge in a church, where he impresses with his natural talent and he is entered at the Juilliard School by Reverend J. At Juilliard, Evan is to be an excellent student and he composes August Rhapsody in C major that will be performed at the New York Philharmonic in Central Park. When evan is rehearsing to prepare his Rhapsody Wizard found him and took him after threatening Evan’s real name.

When her father gets sick Lyla knows that her baby is still alive. Her father tells the truth to Lyla he had forged her signature on the adoption papers. Then, Lyla goes to the orphanage that adopted her son. There, she meets Mr. Jeffries and finally she knows her son’s name is Evan Taylor. Knowing her son’s name and his picture, Lyla decides to stay in New York while looking for him. Lyla also decides to play music again and also receives to play in Evan’s concert. Evan uses August Rush as his name.

In the other place, Louis is looking for Lyla and luckily he meets with Evan and duels their skill. Louis don’t know that Evan is his son and Evan says his name is August Rush and has an own concert but he can come to the concert because there will be something worse if he comes.

In the night of concert, Evan chooses to run from Wizard attending the concert. In the same time, Louis is on the way home after performing with his band. Then, Louis comes to the Central Park because he read August Rush’s name along with Lyla Novacek’s name on a billboard concert. At last, Louis meets Lyla when Evan is performing.

Moral Value:
The moral value of this movie is that life is full of choice and every choice has an own consequence. So, if we want to take a decision or to choose something, we must think about the risk or the consequence. Like when Evan chooses to run away from Orphanage, when Louis chooses to leave his band and Lyla stops playing music, or when Lyla’s father makes a decision keep away Lyla’s baby from her. All of that have consequences. And no matter what will be happened don’t regret at all because life is a choice.
